This 7 day, 6 night journey leaves once a year and takes passengers 3 400 kilometres from the savannahs of the Highveld, South Africa, to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Swakopmund, Namibia. Highlights of the journey include Kimberley and The Big Hole, the spectacular Fish River Canyon in Namibia and the stark beauty of the Kalahari and Namib Deserts.
There will be a visit to Windhoek, the vibrant capital of Namibia, and an overnight stay at a game lodge bordering Etosha Pan in Etosha National Park. Journey's end is at Swakopmund, the adventure capital of Namibia. At this perfectly preserved nineteenth-century German Hansa the the Namib desert dunes meet the Ocean. This a remarkable sight and a fitting end - or starting place - for this fascinating journey.

Day 1: Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa
You depart Pretoria from Rovos Rails's private Capital Park station at 15h00.
Day 2: Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa
Arrive in Kimberley at 09h45. Guests can partake in a tour of the Big Hole and City of Kimberley. You will depart Kimberley about 12h30.
Day 3: Holoog Siding, Namibia
At 10h45 you arrive at Holoog Siding. Visit to the Fish River Canyon in Namibia with lunch at Canyon Lodge.
Day 4: Windhoek, Namibia
You arrive in Windhoek Station at 10h00. Enjoy a visit to the museum and a Windhoek City Tour. Lunch is served at Okapuka Ranch followed by an afternoon game drive. You depart Okapuka at 18h00.
Day 5: Tsumeb, Namibia
The train will arrive in Tsumeb at about 10h45. You are transferred to Mokuti Lodge for lunch, where you can enjoy a game drive and will stay over night.
Day 6: Etosha Pan, Etosha National Park, Namibia
Guests will enjoy an early morning game drive into the Etosha Pan. At 13h00 you depart from Tsumeb.
Day 7: Swakopmund, Namibia
You arrive in Swakopmund at 12h00 and can explore the adventure capital of Namibia. Your tour ends in this city where the dunes of the most ancient desert in the world meet the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
